    Pioneer class light cruiser introduced in the 2260s to support the rapidly expanding United Federation of Planets and refit in the 2270s. The smaller cousin to the Constitution and Sombra classes of starship. Designed for three-year missions and secondary exploration and diplomatic, as well as colonial support missions.

    Pioneer class light cruiser was designed for Star Trek Online It made a brief appearance at the Fleet Museum in Star Trek: Picard season 3.
